Time for some FUN

After all the excitement with family and gifts, Kolton had the chance to relax and be a 2 year old. Fortunately, the weather was perfect and we got to enjoy some fresh air and let him play outside. It was nice to just sit back and watch him interact with his great grandparents and uncles. I am enjoying this stage so much, I love watching him explore and learn new things. My baby is growing up so fast, he is the center of our world, and I hope he always knows how much he is loved. My goal for the new year is to not take one moment for granted and to cherish every moment and take full advantage of the opportunity to make new memories with loved ones.

Kolton was completely impressed with this snowglobe...there was a train that went around inside it. I believe he sat there for nearly 30 minutes trying to figure it out.

Christmas Travels

Well after traveling to Huntsville for Christmas Eve with my family, Nana, Papa, Uncles Brad, Brandon, and Carl and Aunt Jodie, Jamie and Tara, and can't forget cousin Lucas, we came back home for Christmas Eve with the Kramer's, Opa, Uncle Sheldon & Aunt Trish, and Uncle Chance. So much family, so much love... and toys. It's a shame Kolton doesn't have any love...
Afterwards we were off to the midnight Christmas Eve service at church, a tradition Dustin and I started the year we met. I was really hoping after a late nap, and a full tummy, that Kolton would sit during the service without a problem, (we have taken him into a regular service on Sunday, without a hitch). Everything started off so great, he LOVED the singing and all the trees and lights so much so that he yelled out "candles, fire mommy daddy look" several times. The first time it was funny but when he wouldn't quit, we had to get up and walk out. I then tried to come back in for more of the singing, this time staying in the back, again it started off great then went to terrible quickly. During the solo, Kolton was clapping and yelling, "Yea!! Yea!!" again cute, the FIRST time. Trying to not ruin the service for everyone there, Kolton and I enjoyed the rest of the service in the cry room of the church. It wasn't quite how I was hoping to enjoy it, but better then nothing. We did manage to sneak back in just in time for the candle lighting which did keep his attention. Fortunately, the family sitting behind us went out of their way to let us know it didn't bother them, it was great to know some people still had the Christmas Spirit.

We had Christmas morning at home, as always. This year my dad was here to celebrate with us. Kolton had so many gifts under the tree it took him nearly 3 hours to get through them all. He would open one, play with it for a bit then move on to the next. He played Santa to himself, went right to the tree and started pulling out gifts left and right. After lunch here, we headed out to Fredericksburg to have yet one more Christmas with Dustin's moms side of the family, Mimi, Nom, Uncles Cullen and Bryson, great grandparents MaryFay (GG) Omie, & Opie. Although we are tired from our travels and visits, we feel blessed to have so many loved ones to share these times with.

We are looking forward to 2009 and can't wait to see what it has in store for us. We wish you all happiness in the New Year.

Here are some pictures of Kolton openeing gifts, something he has become a pro at over the last few weeks between his birthday and Christmas.

Santa's Wonderland

We loaded up the family and drove to College Station to see the Christmas lights and enjoy some Christmas festivities. It was nice and cold out which made it feel more like winter time. They had snow machines, music playing, a petting zoo and pony rides. Kolton had his first taste of hot chocolate, needless to say I didn't really get to enjoy mine because he loved it so much. We hope to make it a yearly trip now that Kolton is getting to the age of really enjoying those things. Uncle Josh, Cousin Lucas, Uncle Brad, Aunt Jamie, and Nana & Papa all went along. Kolton loved getting to feed the goats, and rabbits, riding the pony, but wasn't too sure what to think of the pigs. They had a huge wall with lights decorated to look like the Texas flag, of course we had to take some pictures with it.
Those aggies may not be too good at football, but they sure now how to hang Christmas lights....Hook Em' Horns!!!!!

Kolton's 2nd Birthday Party

We had Kolton's 2nd birthday party on Saturday the 13th. Being that he loves Melmo (Elmo) so much, we decided to go with that theme. We invited several of his friends over to play, what fun they had. So many little ones running around and playing, I don't think Kolton realized it was all for him but he played his little heart out. When it came time to sing and eat cake, he wasn't to sure what to think about everyone singing to him, but knew just what to do when it was time to blow out the candle. I feel so grateful that Kolton has so many friends that were able to come and celebrate with him. I see many friendships lasting through the years. Thanks to everyone who came and shared this special day with us, you made it even more memorable by being here. I posted random pictures from the party, some of the birthday boy and his cake, a few of him and his friends, and some of Kolton enjoying the tissue paper more then whats in the bag...figures. Enjoy!!!

More turkey day fun

After our stay in fredericskburg, we went to Huntsville to visit with my Nana and Papa and I got to meet my mommy's cousin and my second cousins for the first time. This is a picture of Lucas, Nana, and me.
Here is mommy and me, I don't know what she was thinking, she sprayed cool whip in my mouth right out of the can...YUMMY!!! I was told my great Aunt Tasha did this with her when she was little.

Lucas and I found a couple of screwdrivers, Nana had said the window was broken so we thought we could fix it. We were working together to try to get that latch open...eventually we got it. We are so smart, and such a GREAT team.

We played so much that we forgot to take a nap, I guess mom and Aunt Mamie (Jamie) didn't want to spoil our fun. I really hope that I can spend more time with our extended family, we all got along so well. In the picture is
Caden, Me, Cassidy, and Lucas. What a crew!!

Tree Lighting at Market Street

Mom and I went to the lighting of the Christmas tree at market street. I loved dancing to the music and watching the lights come on. I got to see snow for the first time, (they had a snow machine) it was so much fun trying to catch it on my fingers. I kept telling mommy "its nowing mommy its nowing!!" I was really excited and very happy that mommy and I got to go. Mom was hoping to get a picture in front of the big tree, but it was way past my bedtime and I didn't want to cooperate, we will try again when daddy is with us.

Thanksgiving

We spent the week of Thanksgiving in Fredericksburg with my Mimi and Pops...I always love it when I get to visit with everyone there. Mommy, Mimi and Omie took me to the park, I had fun making Mimi and Mommy climb everything with me.

I ate lots of turkey and dressing which I think are now my favorite foods. Don't tell mom but Mimi gave me lots of brownies and treats, I even got to eat 2 popsicles right before dinner. Now I know why mom always calls me a monkey, "monkey see, monkey do" I love to imitate her when she is on the phone, here I am copying Mimi.

We walked through Market Platz (the square)
and I got to pretend I was a gingerbread man, and Santa Claus.

A Day at the Zoo

Mommy and I went to the zoo today with all of our friends. We had so much fun looking at all the animals, I think the giraffes were my favorite, although the monkeys were pretty funny too. Here I am making a monkey face or at least I think thats what it was.

This is a picture of me and my friends all sitting by the orangutan exhibit. Can you believe we all sat there long enough to have our picture taken. We had so much fun, but we all got tired so we didn't get to see all the animals, guess that means they have to take us back soon.

Just before we left, mom and I went on the
train around the park, at first I wasnt sure
what to think, but once we got moving I had
a blast. I waved at everyone as we rode
past them. It was so much fun that I cried
when we had to get off, but mommy promised
we could come back and ride again soon.

Just like daddy

Kolton is really watching people and copying what they do and say. Earlier tonight, Kolton was watching Dustin sitting and reading the paper in his favorite chair. When Dustin got up to get a glass of water he returned to find Kolton in his spot. The moment was priceless and for once, I was able to get the camera and sneak a few pictures in. Kolton did all this on his own with no provoking from any of us, thats what makes it so sweet. I thought you might enjoy these.

Petting Zoo

Kolton had his first trip to the petting zoo. He LOVED getting to play with all the different animals, although the goats seemed to be his favorite. All Kolton wanted to do was chase and feed the goats and the pony. Shortly after that, Kolton found the minature golf, like father like son, we had to pry him away. All he wanted to do was hit the ball into the hole and then would cheer for himself when he made it, expecting everyone else to join in on the cheering. I wonder where he gets that from. Luckily for Dustin, it looks like Kolton will love the game as much as his daddy does. As you can tell from the pictures, Kolton got to enjoy some birthday cake, the blue icing stained him hands and stomach for a couple of days. He had a great time playing with his friends, and enjoying all the fun at the petting zoo. It makes me that much more excited for his party thats just around the corner. Its so great to see him play well with his peers and experience new things on a daily basis.

Fall in Houston

Hello everyone, I am starting this blog in hopes to keep our friends and family near and far updated on our lives. I will do my best to keep it updated on a regular basis.

Kolton is growing so much. Its hard to believe I am starting to plan his 2nd birthday. My little boy is growing up so fast. I am excited to have a party with all his little friends over to play and celebrate. My goal is to never "mix" birthday and Christmas together for him, which I am sure will soon prove to be more of a challenge as he gets older and knows whats going on. We are looking forward to the Holidays this year. We have so much to be thankful for, and I know Christmas this year will be loads of fun at this age. I will work on getting some pictures up ASAP.

Check back for more updates...
