Long over due...

Guess it's been awhile since I posted. I promise to get some pictures uploaded and posted soon.
Lots to share and TONS of pictures to sort through. But for now here is a little update....

The boys are doing great. Kason turned One in September and started walking sometime around the first of November (I have the date just can't recall off the top of my head). Since then he has been running constantly stopping only to eat or sleep, and sometimes not even for that. He is starting to say a few words...his favorite being "momma". Although he has a personality totally his own, he LOVES to copy his big brother and most the time Kolton doesn't mind. He is so much different at this age, I never really had to worry much about Kolton getting into things or finding trouble. Kason on the other hand, gets into whatever he can, as much as he can, and keeps me on my toes ALL the time. There is no sitting and relaxing when he is awake, that being the reason I haven't posted in a while. Just in the past month he had a busted eye, burned his fingers, fell and busted his lip, then fell and cut his gums...but none of that slowed him down one bit. He is my baby and still lets me cuddle with him, and I pray that continues for a long time. He is definitely my good eater too, I don't think there is anything I have put in front of him that he hasn't devoured. I am gonna be in trouble in a few years if he keeps this up, my grocery bill is gonna be HUGE. Over all he is pretty laid back, and a much better sleeper then the other one. He has been sleeping through the night since about 4 or 5 months and still naps 3 times a day. He is such a joy although I am sad to leave the baby years behind, I love watching him grow into his own little boy and look forward to watching that brotherly bond grow with each new phase.

Kolton...my big baby. He amazes me everyday with the things he says and does. He turned four in December and we celebrated with lots of friends and family. Kolton has such a kind heart, although I Love that he got that trait from me, he can be over sensitive and at times its a challenge. He is a very emotional child and I now realize what my mother must have felt like when I was a child...Sorry Mom. It does have it's benefits, he is very protective of Kason, and always right there if he gets hurt, or is upset. The sweetest thing is when he tries to comfort him he rubs his head, kisses his forhead, holds him tight and whispers "its ok little buddy I'm right here". It makes me tear up just thinking about it. On a different note, Kolton is thriving in school, and is getting ready to start T-ball in the spring. He has a LOVE of music (another trait of mine) and loves to put on concerts for us all, the fireplace being his "stage" as he calls it. Many hours a day I get serenaded by flutes, keyboards, violins, guitars, drums, trumpets (koltons favorite), tambourines, and harmonicas, to name a few, not to mention the microphones and dance moves to go along with them all. It's amazing what a mom considers to be beautiful just because its something your child is playing for you. I will encourage him with every ounce of my being to follow his dreams whether it be music, sports, or becoming a doctor one day. Lets just pray my ears make it through the learning stages. He did inherit a few things from Dustin too, like his need to organize and make sure things are done just right, even his toys. I think he has just enough of mom and dads traits mixed with a little of his own to make one special little boy.

Dustin and I are loving life with two boys. We lost two more grandparents in 2010 and we miss them more each day. Dustin's grandfather Opie passed August 20th, and my grandma November 6th. Two amazing people that had impacts on both our lives growing up and into adult hood. Their memories live on and we both vow that our children will always know about their great grandparents and what wonderful influences they were and still are to us both.

There's still so much to tell but its late and the boys are gonna have me up early, so I am off to get some rest.

We are looking forward to the New and exciting things 2011 has in store for us and can't wait to share it with each of you....

Brothers...Best Buds

Kolton is still an amazing big brother, and Kason loves him so much. So this post is dedicated to brotherly love...

FLORIDA...

Every year we take a trip for our anniversary and have decided that it should be a family event. This summer we were finally able to make it to Destin, Florida, somewhere we have been trying to go for the past 5 years. We almost canceled our trip due to a oil leak in the gulf and rumors that the oil had already reached the beaches in Destin. After much consideration we decided to go ahead with the trip in hopes of at least getting a day or two before the oil was too bad. Thankfully when we reached Destin there was no oil and we were able to enjoy every day on the beautiful white sandy beaches...we both had forgot just how gorgeous it was there. Kolton instantly fell in love too, and Kason just liked the taste of the sand :)
We took Nana and Papa (my mom and step-dad) along so that Dustin and I could get a date night for our anniversary. It was a great trip and we hope to make it an annual one.

Growing up so fast

Well the title says it all. Kason is now 7 months old, I can't believe it. When Kolton was born time flew by but I was able to focus 100% of my time on all the special moments so although it went by quickly I feel I was able to enjoy every second. With Kason, I feel like time is just flying by and he is growing up so much quicker. We are so proud of both of our boys, and we thank God every day for these two blessings he has given us.

Kason was sitting in his high chair eating lunch today and when he finished eating I said "yea Kason good job" then i noticed he was trying to clap for himself. I couldn't believe it. Luckily when I got the video out, he was still wanting to perform....

Today we attended a Mom and Baby fest at Market Street. Soccer Tots was the sponsor and had a demonstration of what they teach...Kolton, my little athlete jumped right in there and I was impressed with how well he did. I don't think I have a choice now but to put him in soccer this summer. He really listened and followed directions. I love seeing him grow into his own little person.

Easter

This year Easter was pretty laid back for us. Kolton was still recovering from his tonsillectomy so we decided it was in his best interest to stay home and try to keep things low key. When we got up Easter morning Kolton and Kason woke to the goodies the Easter bunny left them. Kolton was really sweet as he wanted to help Kason open his basket before his own. After opening their baskets, we headed to church for a great service, then home for some lunch and the egg hunt.

A quick catch up

With so much to update, I thought I would let the pictures and videos do the sharing...so I hope you enjoy.

March 30th, Kolton went in to have his tonsils and adenoids removed in hopes of helping him stay healthier. He did great and is such a trooper. Here he is in the waiting room before surgery....so brave

Bluebonnets in Bloom

This past weekend we attempted some pictures in the bluebonnets. Although Kolton and Kason were not really in the picture taking mood, we got a few great shots of the boys. Thank you so much to Deanne for taking the pictures for us. There are a few of these that are absolutely priceless. We are going again this weekend for some Kramer family portraits and I hope to capture some more pictures of the boys together, and with Dustin.
