Well last Thursday September 10, I went in to L&D after having some pretty strong contractions all night long. It was Kolton's second day of school, so we decided I would drive myself to the hospital, and Dustin would get Kolton up and ready for school. So around 7:15 I checked into observation, and to my suprise, I was starting to dilate. After expecting to be sent back home, my doctor came in and told me I had two options 1. go home and come back on Saturday for a c-section or 2. schedule the section for around 12 that day. As ready as I was, we decided to go ahead and schedule for that afternoon. Dustin made his way up to the hospital, and we began making phone calls to let everyone know. We had Jodie pick Kolton up after school, and bring him up to the hospital. When he walked into the room, and heard the monitor he got very excited to hear his little brothers heartbeat. We then began explaining to him that he was going to get to meet his baby brother in just a few short hours. He got even more excited. After a few delays, we finally got into the OR around 130pm.
Then after what seemed to take forever, we heard the cries of our sweet little boy at 2:58pm. Kason Wyatt came out screaming and crying (much more then Kolton ever did). He weighed in at 9lbs 11oz and 19inches long. Those numbers sounded so little to me after Kolton. After getting him all cleaned up and checked out, I finally got to see and hold him. Another miracle from God and he was finally here. As with Kolton, I had some minor complications coming out of surgery and had to be given some extra medications which sad to say knocked me out for several hours. I am even more sad to say that I don't recall much of those hours shortly after Kason was born, including his first bath, Kolton's first time seeing and holding him, and many family members coming in to see him for the first time. Fourtunatly Dustin got most everything on video. By Friday morning, I was feeling better, and really got to enjoy Kolton and Kason together. Kolton has blown us away with his eagerness to help, and take care of Kason. He is so over protective of Kason, and can't stand to hear him cry. Kason is a great baby. I have to wake him up to feed and the only time he cries, is when he is not wrapped up or if he is getting his diaper changed. I do think I lucked out and got a baby that favors me more then Dustin this time, although he does look a lot like Kolton. He is now a week old, I can't believe it's already been one whole week. Seems like just yesterday I was waddling around praying he would come early. I will try to post more pictures and hopefully some video soon.
